Who is behind Pray for Ely? What is our vision? Why we are doing this?

We are a group of local Christians from St Mary’s Church on St Mary’s Street, Ely, Cambridgeshire along with friends from other local churches, with a vision to offer prayer as an act of service to our friends, neighbours and wider community of Ely.

Our experience is that we have seen God answer our prayers – sometimes directly, tangibly and powerfully, sometimes by giving us the strength we need to get through our difficulties, and sometimes by giving us just what we actually needed, rather than perhaps what we thought we needed!

Friends we have prayed for have found strength and encouragement in times of trouble and need, some have been healed, others have found release from addictions or destructive behaviours, and others have seen improvements in challenging family relationships.

We have come to believe and experience that as we pray, God, who loves each one of us, works through our prayers and changes lives for the better. If you would like to explore prayer for yourself, do check out our getting started in prayer section:

Our experience is of the loving God who listens and answers our prayers. 
If you would like us to pray for a need you have anonymously, do fill out our prayer request form and we will undertake to pray for your need. If you would additionally like someone to make contact with you, you may optionally provide some contact details, and we will follow up with you:

We have set ourselves the goal to pray for the whole of Ely during 2018, believing that as we pray, God is at work in our lives, loving us, supporting us, healing us, freeing us and calling us into relationship with him.
